The MScDS is a 2-year program focused on equipping students with essential skills in data science. Graduates become adept researchers and leaders, choosing between application or research tracks. Regardless of the path, strong data analytics, critical thinking, and communication skills are cultivated for success in big data or advanced research.
Non-native English-speaking applicants without an undergraduate degree from an English-language university must meet language proficiency requirements, such as a minimum TOEFL score of 570 (TWE 4.5+), minimum iBT score of 88 (no section below 20), IELTS score of at least 6.5 (no band below 6.0), or CAEL score of at least 70 (no subsets below 60).
Applicants to the Master of Science in Data Science program need a four-year bachelor's degree with a minimum average grade of B or B+ for project and thesis options, respectively. Preference is given to those specialized in Statistics, Computing Science, Mathematics, or Engineering. Prospective students should demonstrate proficiency in statistics, data structures, algorithms, databases, and R/Python software packages.
