The Master of Business Information Systems is a postgraduate program tailored for business-focused IT roles such as business information systems and IT management. The curriculum spans daily operations to managerial decision-making, preparing graduates for roles like business analyst and IT manager. The program includes advanced IT units and specialized courses, with options for a minor-thesis research project or industry experience.
For Monash University admission, meeting minimum entry requirements is crucial but doesn't guarantee acceptance due to competition. Courses may have extra prerequisites. Applicants must fulfill English language requirements, hold Australian or overseas qualifications (assessed case by case), and provide scored or graded results. Certified translations are preferred for non-English qualifications. Uncertain applicants can still apply, and results will be assessed for eligibility.
English entry requirements for the program: IELTS (Academic) 6.5 overall with 6.0 in each section, or Pearson Test of English (Academic) 58 overall with 50 in each module, or TOEFL Internet-based test 79 overall with specified minimum scores in each section.
International students can enter the program at two levels. For Entry level 1, a two-year full-time or four-year part-time duration requires an Australian bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with a credit (60%) average. Entry level 2, with a 1.5-year full-time or three-year part-time duration, necessitates an Australian bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline related to information systems, including completed studies in programming and databases, with a credit (60%) average.
