This program equips IT professionals with practical skills in network and systems administration. Focused on hands-on application, it covers deploying network operating systems and infrastructure services. Graduates are prepared for IT administration roles or advanced studies in security, networking, and operations.
All students entering this program must: have a laptop computer that meets minimum specified requirements own and maintain their laptop bring their laptop on the first day of classes.
Admission requires an Ontario College diploma, advanced diploma, degree, or equivalent in a technology-based field with a minimum overall average grade of B. Alternatively, applicants from other fields must have at least 5 years of full-time work experience as an IT system or network administrator with a minimum overall average grade of B in their credentials. Another option is an Ontario College diploma with at least 5 years of full-time work experience in a similar IT position and an overall average grade of B. Grades are assessed to Ontario standards by country.
Domestic applicants with transcripts from non-Canadian educational institutions need to have their documents assessed for equivalency by an approved credential evaluation service. Comprehensive or Course-by-Course Reports are necessary for program application.
Applicants with degrees/diplomas from non-English instruction institutions must submit English proficiency scores, such as TOEFL iBT 88, IELTS 6.5, CAEL 70, PTE Academic 58, CELT Band 6, Cambridge Exams 180. For students below English admission standards, a language program is offered. Admission to the degree program follows completion of ELS level 4 with an 80% average and no grade below 75%, determined by in-house tests or TOEFL/IELTS scores.
