Conestoga College offers a one-year, full-time graduate certificate program in Information Technology Network Security. The course addresses the increasing threat to network infrastructure, providing students with expertise in network technologies, computing hardware, and protocols. Emphasis is placed on identifying and mitigating threats through audits, technical methods, and policy development. Taught by industry experts, the program equips graduates to assess risks and design secure infrastructure solutions for protecting business data and network systems. Classes may extend until 8:00 p.m., and specialized courses enhance students’ skills in this field.

Admission requirements include an Ontario College diploma, degree, or equivalent with a minimum B average, or a minimum of 5 years of full-time IT system/network administration or similar work experience. Applicants are ranked based on academic performance, degree/diploma details, and supporting IT technology experience, including Microsoft and Linux/UNIX operating systems, and network technology systems like routers, switches, and firewalls.
Domestic applicants with transcripts from non-Canadian educational institutions must undergo equivalency evaluation at an approved credential evaluation service. For this program, applicants need either a Comprehensive or Course-by-Course Report.
pplicants must have basic experience with Microsoft and Linux/Unix operating systems, along with fundamental knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP.
Applicants with non-English instruction degrees/diplomas must submit English proficiency scores (e.g., TOEFL iBT 88, IELTS 6.5, CAEL 70, PTE Academic 58, CELT Band 6, Cambridge Exams 180). For students below English admission standards, a language program is offered. Admission to the degree program follows completion of ELS level 4 with an 80% average and no grade below 75%, determined by in-house tests or TOEFL/IELTS scores.
