The Bachelor of Computer Science with a major in Internet of Things (IoT) is designed to equip students with the skills needed for a successful career at the forefront of the digital revolution. The program focuses on software development and is taught by experienced professionals in the field. Students have the opportunity to learn in industry-standard labs and can choose to specialize in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Games Development, Software Development, or Internet of Things. Applicants need either VCE completion or equivalent, including international Year 12 qualifications, or completion of an approved tertiary qualification. Guaranteed admission requires meeting or exceeding the ATAR Entry Score and fulfilling course prerequisites. Admission may still be possible with a lower ATAR, subject to adjustments based on bonuses or equity schemes. See the course handbook for details.
Applicants need a minimum study score of 25 in any English (excluding EAL) or 30 in English as Alternate Language (EAL) or equivalent for VCE Units 3 and 4. Additionally, for VCE Units 1 and 2, completion of two units of any Mathematics or equivalent is required. Those without the necessary math prerequisites must complete Swinburne’s MathsLink Further Mathematics bridging program.
