Starting Fall 2024, the Data Science major prepares students for a data-driven world with a focus on practical experience and ethical data use. Students will learn to create and analyze datasets, derive insights, and communicate findings effectively. The program offers early exposure to data science, a mix of mathematics, statistics, and computer science, and the flexibility to choose electives and an optional minor. Emphasizing ethical practices, the curriculum ensures students are prepared for various roles while upholding privacy and responsible data use.
Students should ask a teacher for a recommendation letter via the Common Application's Recommender Section. Start early to ensure the teacher has enough time to respond before the deadline.
After submitting the application, complete the International Student Application Supplement. The university considers financial need for international admissions and offers partial funding through scholarships and grants. Complete this form to estimate funding sources and disclose any outside assistance in the application process.
International applicants must demonstrate English proficiency through tests like Duolingo English Test, TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE. Exceptions apply for certain transfers or completion of approved English language programs.
