Conestoga’s IMMID program is a one-year graduate certificate offering in Interactive Media Management – Interaction Design. It equips students to tackle diverse interactive challenges in the digital realm. The curriculum focuses on practical UX design skills applicable to various business needs, including brand loyalty, accessibility, and profitability. Students work on projects involving websites, apps, wearables, smart products, and AR/VR applications. The program combines individual and team-based experiential learning, incorporating UX practices like visual design, research, writing, ethics, business, and IT elements. Faculty with industry experience provide guidance, helping students build a portfolio and offering a field placement for real-world application. The goal is to prepare students for success in shaping superior digital experiences.

Admission requires a two- or three-year diploma, a degree in a related field, or a minimum of 5 years of relevant full-time work experience. Preference for applicants from traditional design/illustration or media/design programs, including graphic design, web design, interactive design, broadcast media/technologies. Applicants from computer programming, computer science, or engineering programs are also encouraged. Relevant experience includes roles like illustrators, artists, graphic/web designers, programmers, design engineers, communication professionals, or from fields like human resource management, training, education, or equivalent, requiring a resume and work-related references.
Applicants with degrees/diplomas from non-English instruction institutions must provide English proficiency scores (e.g., TOEFL iBT 88, IELTS 6.5, CAEL 70, PTE Academic 58, CELT Band 6, Cambridge Exams 180, or equivalent). For students below English admission standards, a language program is available. Admission to the degree program requires completing ELS level 4 with an 80% average and no grade below 75%, assessed by in-house tests or TOEFL/IELTS scores.
