The “Cybersecurity Response Planning” program at Conestoga College is a two-term Ontario College Graduate Certificate focusing on the increasing threat of cyberattacks. It equips students with technical and risk management skills to assess, develop, and enhance preventive and responsive approaches to cyber threats. The curriculum emphasizes business and operational technical skills, with real-world technologies and challenges taught by experienced faculty. The program includes an optional one-term co-op placement for practical experience.
About Co-Op:
College co-op programs offer practical work experience, but employment isn’t guaranteed. Students must actively seek opportunities, handle transportation costs, and be legally eligible to work in Canada. Admission to the co-op stream is competitive, based on an 80% average in Year 1. International students need work permits with potential delays. No co-op fee refunds after withdrawal date, and continuing without a permit is at the student’s risk. Early discussion with a co-op advisor is advised for work permit concerns.
All students entering this program must: have a laptop computer that meets minimum specified requirements own and maintain their laptop bring their laptop on the first day of classes.
Admission requires an Ontario College diploma, degree, or equivalent with a minimum overall grade of B in computer-related fields. Alternatively, a B-grade average in a graduate certificate for computer applications or mobile solutions development is accepted. Other relevant disciplines with a significant focus on software development may also be considered.
